We bought a queen-size mattress set, and it was a pretty cut and dry experience. I went in with a set budget (after researching what offers and specials were on there), and our sales associate KEVIN (though he seemed a little nervous around us) was not pushy about trying to upsell us on the mattress. He did offer us products (like a mattress protector) and explain that it would protect our 10-year warranty, and warned us which ones were pricier. When the one we chose wasn't in stock for our size, he got us a slightly more expensive one discounted to the same price.
Cheers & happy shopping people! :)
Over all, I think it was a decent experience shopping there, and worth driving out to from our neighborhood in Chicago. But I did a bit of research and knew exactly what I wanted before I went in, knowing that my budget would have to fudge a little bit either way.
We were amply notified about our delivery, two days in advance, and then up to ten minutes of arrival, and it was done via text-message so I could answer at work. Then they even called right before they arrived so we could be prepared for their arrival.
If I could give zero stars, then I would. My husband and I remodeled our house and basically refurnished it entirely from Ashley's. We loved our sales lady, and while the sticker prices were high, the store manager gave us some solid discounts based on how many rooms we were furnishing. And that is where the nice part ends. The first time that they came to deliver our furniture, the was no hardware to the bunk beds that we bought for our sons. The sofa that we ordered had a huge rip in the back, the recliner was broken and would not recline, the adjustable base that we bought for our new bed was cracked, and they delivered only 4 of the 6 chairs we bought for our dining room. They literally screwed up every single room that we were trying to refurnish. They attempted to redeliver and/or fix the problems at total of three times. In the end we just accepted damaged furniture to get it over with. They gave us some further discounts, of course, but we spent money to buy damaged goods. In terms of customer service, they were pretty awful all around. No one took responsibility for the many screw ups, and they management seemed consistently surprised at how angry we were. I will NEVER spend money there again.
my experience at Ashley well it was good and bad. the associate's name was MARIA, a very nice lady. she answer all my questions very professionally. after I picked the furniture to purchase I ask Maria if they HAD A DISSCOUNT SHE SAID YES WICH SHE APPLIED TO MY PURCHASE. SO I ASK HER ABOUT A MANAGERS DISSCOUNT, SINCE MY PURCHASE WAS OVER $2600 HUNDRED DOLLARS, and I was paying cash. this is the bad side of my purchase, along comes BRENDA ONE OF THE MANAGERS, I ASK HER ABOUT THE MANAGERS DISCOUNT ON ONE OF THE ITEMS. TO MY SURPRICE VERY ABRUDLLY SHE SAID NO AND WALK AWAY.THE NO DID NOT BOTHER ME BUT THE WALKING AWAY DID, VERY UNPROFESSIONALL. I did not want to punish MARIA AND CANCEL THE ORDER SO I DID MAKE THE PURCHASE. PERHAPS I WILL HEAR FROM ASHLEY... THANK YOU. G R..
We then decided that the boxspring was a little too tall for our liking, and decided to try and get it exchanged. This process was a little less "in and out" as i had to call each day for about three days to get someone who would even discuss the possibility of an exchange, but when I did get a hold of the store manager, he was very accommodating and informed us right up front that we'd have to pay the new delivery fee (which we were expecting.)
I will say I bought a couch from here and it was a ROUGH start. A) Communication about what side the chaise needs to be on was a mess. I explained where I would need the chaise based on me sitting down, but just so you're aware it is determined by you facing the couch. The salesperson did not explain this and clearly misjudged my explanation of where I needed it when I was in the store. B) When it was delivered the couch was too big, so I had to go back and get a new, smaller one. This was entirely my fault as I estimated instead of truly taking measurements. I will admit to this fault. C) I bought a smaller couch, which was less expensive than the previous couch, which I would think I would see some money back. Nope, I got an in-store credit, which I get, but wasn't the biggest fan of this method. Last, my new couch was delivered to the wrong address, as my billing address and shipping address were different. I clearly specified this in the store, and well the prior couch made it to the right address, so I would think this wouldn't be an issue the second time around. I called immediately after the delivery guy notified me he was "here" (at the wrong address), and luckily they arranged it to be delivered the same day. So I was satisfied with this portion of my experience, I suppose. My advice, from experience is, 1) know your measurements (lesson learned), 2) check over all the invoices and materials they provide in order to ensure they have the information correct, and 3) be ready for some inconvenience and miscommunication as it appears that may be inevitable.
Horrible; after waiting for the delivery two months to happen and still doesn't happen, plus no notice, call or email that they failed to deliver. I call the store just to be told that I will have to wait another month for it.. never again.
